Whew! Yess it is finally open. After all that stress and work, I have gotten it almost where I want it, but it's ready to open. We'll need enough cats in each clan before we can start roleplaying, but hopefully that'll go by fast. *crosses fingers*

So, because I'm pretty sure nobody is going to read the rules once they get there, I think I'll just post them here, so you can decide whether this is the kind of forum for you.

Roleplay Rules

Well, I finally got to answering all of the questions I got. There were so many! I can't believe it! Thank you guys so much; I didn't expect such a turn out!

How did you become famous?
Ffffff me? Famous?? Ha ha no. It’s going to be a looooooooooooooong looooooooooong looooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time before I even start to consider thinking I’m even a little famous. LOL

Are you religious? If so, what religion?
I’m not what you would call religious, but I identify myself as a protestant.

What’s your favorite place to be?
Hmmmm…my favorite place to be would probably either my room or the animal shelter at which I work. Both places I can just lay down with pets and relax.

What do you look like?
Like a girl. Okay, I have blonde hair and greenish-bluish eyes. c:

Which tutorials do you use for backgrounds and shading?
For backgrounds, *ESDA06's "Digital Fieldwork Tutorial" has helped me a lot. As has =DJCoulzAnimalsOnly's ”Giant Background Tutorial”.

Then for shading, I’ve just kind of studied other artist’s styles and compiled them. It’s nothing really original. But a good resource to learn lighting is *Ayem’s ”A Lesson in Light”. And =DJCoulz has some killer tutorials on her site.

Also, =Neikoish has an amazing set of tutorials on lineart, coloring, shading, and backgrounds.

What inspired you to draw?
Animated movies and TV shows mostly. I just loved watching Disney and Don Bluth movies, and I just wanted to do just what they were doing. Also, the Clifford the Big Red Dog books inspired me a lot. And having an artist uncle also helps. c:

What do you like to draw the most?
Honestly, I love doodling. I love not having to think of what I want or need to draw, but just having my brain pour out on the paper. Even the really crappy, silly stuff. I just have fun doing them.

Do you do other art, more then just drawing, like literature and stuff? And if you do write literature, is it good?
Actually, I write a lot. I have a very over active imagination, so I like spilling it out onto paper. Now whether it’s good or not, I can’t say. Ha ha!

What’s your favorite animal?
Oh geez, that’s hard. Let’s just say if every animal got together and had a baby, that’d be my favorite animal. But okay, I’ll be fair, my top favorites are, canines, felines, and rodents. There’s a bunch that are reeeally really close, but those are the top three.

Do you like Twilight, Warriors, or Harry Potter more?
Eeek another hard one. Ummm…I really can’t decide, simply because they all have such a different writing style and have such different topics.

Did something inspire you to start a career as an artist?
Like, an actual career? Well, to be honest, coming onto deviantART really pushed me even further into wanting to draw for a living. I saw everything on here, and I realized that I couldn’t really see myself doing anything else but art. Also, going to the emergency animal hospital pretty much killed all desires to become a vet. XDD

Did you always have the style you have now?
Oooh god no! My old account, ~under-pup285 is proof of that. XDD And of course, there’s this. LOL But that just kinda makes me chuckle.

Do you have a tablet? If so, what kind?
Yes I do. It’s a Wacom Graphire4. His name is Jimmy, and his pen wife’s name is Gertude. c:

Do you have a boyfriend?
Nope, and never have. :c

What program do you use?
I use Photoshop Elements 6. But I am starting to migrate toward Illustrator and full Photoshop. Damn DigDesign class is spoiling me. Ooh and I also have Flash for animating, but I haven’t quite figured that one out yet.

Do you plan on making a tutorial on your style of art?
Not really. I have tried to make one, but the truth is, I’m not very good at it. But you never know.

How did you first discover Warriors?
I had seen it in bookstores for a while and wondered what it was about, but never picked it up. Then freshman year, I was desperate for a book to read while we were at our beach house, so I thought “What the hey?” and got the first book. We have been together ever since and spend our summers in the Philippines. c:

Do you do requests, trades, collabs, commissions?
I almost always do requests, but I only take a few at a time, and they’re usually filled. Sometimes I’ll take more than I usually do, but then it always takes, like 6 months for me to finish them. XDD Trades are the same.

I’ve only done a few collabs, but I’d love to do some more. If it ends up a lot of people want to do them, I’ll probably put a limit on them, as well. c:

And of course, I’m always up for commissions.

Do you have anything to say to your fellow deviants?
You guys are pretty much awesome. I really love this site and all the people on here. Despite all the drama, it’s a great place. Speaking of which:

I’m not really into the videogame thing. I do play a lot more since I got Wii; so I guess someone who plays every once in a while. c:

Do you like turtles?
Oh gosh yess!! I’ve never had one, but my sister’s gf did/does, and they’re so cuteee!!!

Have you ever had sex?
Nope. I’m a virgin, and proud of it.

What pets have you had?
Well, my first pets were a beagle named Max, a tabby named Chester, and a guinea pig named Harry. And now we have a mutt named Dutchess and a cat named Bear. c: We did have a wienapoo named Sam, but he was my sister’s dog and she took him to her apartment. :c And then we had Bear’s mother, Maria, and her brother and sisters for a short time, but we eventually gave them away.

How long did it take you to fully develop your style?
I’m really still developing my style. I find that with every picture, my style improves/changes a little bit. XDD

Do you find any particular book or other resource to be especially helpful?
Weatherly’s Guide to Drawing Animals is really good for animal anatomy. You can find some of the book on Google Books, here.
Also, simply finding photographs and drawing them can be very helpful. But make sure you provide a link, if the reference photo’s not yours. c:

What style do you like the most? Which do you hate?
Hmmm…I of course love the digital illustration type things, but I also love paintings of any sort, traditional or digital. And I don’t really hate any style, but I’m not a big fan of anime. LOL Sorry.

Who are some of the artists that inspire you?
Wow, there are so many people that inspire me, but to name a few: ~colonel-strawberry, *Jubilations, and *MoonsongWolf. And then Christian Slade’s work never ceases to amaze me. c:

What advice do you have for hard-on-themselves uninspired artists who think they will never improve?
Never, ever give up on yourself. We are our toughest critiques; before we can worry about pleasing anyone else, we have to learn to please ourselves. It just takes practice. You can take art classes, get art books, etc. Whatever helps you. Find what it is you like to draw, and study that. But remember not to be limited to one style. Try out different ones, even if you’re terrible at them. No one has to see them. It’s just for practice.

Also, accept other people’s critique. Most of the time they really want to help you become a better artist. But just remember not to take some things too seriously. If someone tells you, “OMG THAT’S TERRIBLE!” just shrug it off. It might sting, but remember, it’s just one person’s opinion. And if they’re going to tell you that without being nice, and/or giving you tips to improve, they’re not worth listening to.

Never underestimate your imagination. Sometimes you just need to let go and let your mind wander, even when you’re drawing. Instead of focusing on how something should look, try to imagine how it could look.

And finally, and most importantly, have fun! Nothing’s worth doing if you don’t enjoy it.

What do you want to be when you “grow up”?
Either an animator, a character designer, or an illustrator for books. c: Or ya know, a fairy princess.

How long have you been drawing?
Basically ever since I could hold a pencil. So maybe, since I was three or four?

How did you learn to draw facial expressions so well? Did you use a book, just know it, or study other people's faces and reactions?
Actually, I’ve never found expressions to be my strong suit. They’re actually pretty hard for me. But watching a lot of animated movies and television shows helps. And just watching the species that you draw, to see how their faces move. Also just practicing lots of different expressions. And doing really over the top ones sometimes help you with the more subtle ones.

What inspires your drawings?
A lot of things. My real life, music, my pets, books. Pretty much anything. XDD

When you go through the dreaded artist's block, what inspires you to start drawing again?
It depends on how bad it is. If it’s not real bad artist block, then usually just sitting down, and forcing myself to draw does the trick. Unfortunately, it usually isn’t that easy. Most of the time I have to read or listen to music. Going to the zoo or the animal shelter helps a lot, too. But sometimes I have to just wait it out until I get an OMG-I-WANNA-DRAW moment…it’s awful!!

Do you like waffles?
YEAH I LIKE WAFFLES!

Have you ever questioned your sexuality?
Most definitely. I personally don’t think anyone never questions their sexuality; I think it’s a normal part of life.

Why do you draw? I mean, what drives you to pick up a pencil and draw?
I don’t really know. I think the urge to draw has always been in me. It’s just something I love doing.

Did it take you a long time to get a good drawing style?
As I said before, I haven’t fully developed my style. I think I’ll keep on learning throughout my entire life.

Some people are just that amazing and can pick up a pencil at two and start drawing. Have you always done that or did you slave away at art books and classes like other people?
Ha ha nooooooooo. It took lots and lots of books, and lots and lots of classes. I envy those awesome people. XDD

What’s your favorite color?
Recently, any sort of purple. I don’t know why, but whenever I see something purple I’m just like OMGPURPLEWANT!!

Where do you live?
In a house.

How has your summer been?
Actually very good. I’ve been a lot more busy than I usually am, so I’m not really bored out of my mind. Thanks for askin’!

Ha ha, my parents are really embarrassing when it comes to my art. Like, whenever my mom has friends over, she just has to pull out some of my pictures and show them off. And then my dad showed my deviantART to his entire office. I was like, “MOOOOOOM!! DAAAAAADDD!! D:” And then of course, they made me give my deviantART to my digital design teacher when I applied for the class. Ugghhh. It’s bad.

Soooo I won't be here this weekend. We're going camping. Though it's a really really bad weekend, because it's raining cats and dogs outside. D: But oh well; we're staying in cabins so I guess it's okaay. XDD

Anyyyywaaaaaaay. I had to go to the doctor today because my ear was hurting reeeeally bad and I could hardly hear out of it. Turns out I had like, an ear booger. No it was a wax glob, but ear booger sounds cooler. Anyway, first they had to drop some medicine in my ear and let it sit for like, fifteen minutes. Then they had to take this big shot looking thing filled with water and wash out my ear for another ten minutes. It felt so wieeeerrrdd!! And it didn't even make it stop hurting. If anything, it hurts worse. Yeah, not fun.
